Medical Dose Chart

What you need to know:  Due to the recent recalls for both acetaminophen and ibuprofen, dosing for both of these medications has become very confusing due to changes in labeling and changes in concentrations of the medications.

Note:

  1. Always dose by the approximate weight (not age) of your child.
  2. Look to see what medication you have and its concentration (i.e. how many mg/mL).
  3. Use the tables in linked document below to find the correct dose.  Measure carefully with syringe or medication cup.  DO NOT USE KITCHEN SPOON OR COOKING MEASURING SPOON as these were not made for medications.
