Asthma Management

We like to see our patients with reactive airway disease or asthma regularly every three months.

These visits allow us to assess how well-controlled the asthma symptoms are and determine whether or not changes in medications would help control asthma symptoms better.  The visit also allows us to decrease or discontinue medications that are no longer needed.

We want to minimize/eliminate asthma flares, ER visits, and hospitalizations so that your child can run and play and fully participate in life.

Some signs that your child’s asthma is not well-controlled may include but are not limited to the following: needing to use albuterol more than 2-3 times per week, getting short of breath with activities, awakening from sleep with cough more than a few times a week, and wheezing.

Please call our office for an appointment sooner than the typical 3-month follow-up if you think your child’s asthma is not well-controlled.

Testimonial

"We absolutely love the care we get at Hillsborough Pediatrics! The doctors and nurses are wonderful! We are new parents and they always take the time to answer our questions and ease our concerns. Our daughter had significant feeding issues as a newborn and they were extremely supportive and positive in helping us during that difficult time. We can not say enough great things about the care we receive!"
